The Sufix Performance Pro 8 Braid comes under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.

WHEN you’re looking to repeat smooth, long, accurate casts, especially when lure fishing, look no further than Sufix Performance Pro 8.

Made with eight strands of HMPE fibres, it’s a thin and strong braid, enabling you to fish with finesse. Woven under high tension, it also offers high abrasion resistance and good knot strength.

With a round and smooth profile, helping it to glide through rod rings, it’s available in Lo-Vis Green, Neon Orange and Hot Pink colours, in a variety of diameters, from 0.10 mm (14 lb) up to 0.40 mm (110 lb), on 135 m, 275 m and 3,200 m spools.

Not only is it great for casting lures to long distances, but also for punching out spods and marker floats. The heavier strains will appeal to saltwater anglers.

Price: from £16.49.
