DESCRIPTION. Two established privately owned ‘carp’ reservoirs and a highly successful Silver Fish Reservoir which is popular all through the year make up this well respected fishery. The Carp Reservoirs contain carp of all sizes to 25 lb, they average 7 to 14 lb, also present is a smattering of roach and rudd. The Silver Fish Reservoir houses tench to 7 lb, chub to 4 lb, bream, orfe and a handful of barbel to 3 lb, crucians run to 1 lb 8 oz and the rudd to around 1 lb.
TACTICS. On the Carp Reservoirs conditions dictate, but carp do show to pole or waggler fished pellet, corn or paste. Other options are to fish any of the listed baits on a basic feeder or Method feeder. On the Silver Fish Reservoir, the float scores well with chopped worm and caster for bream and skimmers. Chub and rudd show to a ‘slow drop’ rig with maggot or caster hook baits. Crucians and tench can be caught close in to single grains of corn, maggot or a soft pellet.
GOOD SWIMS. Fish into a warm wind if you can.
