IT’S TIME again for Angler’s Mail to start our search for our Angling Poem of the Year!

We know thousands of anglers like to get their thoughts down on paper, and why give it a go with a few lines of poetry?

This year we are looking for poems about fishing experiences, and have widened the theme to include the importance of conservation in the countryside.

You could win a new Cort Electric Guitar put up by musical maestro Paul Brett (pictured), who has set many of angling godfather Izaak Walton’s poems to music.

Poetry judge Paul Brett, a musical maestro and keen angler. He's prepared a special promotional video for this competition (watch it via the link below).

Paul will again be our final judge, and turn the top three Mail readers’ entries into songs, and give them their own personal CD of the songs. The winner and two runners-up also win special signed DVDs, Paul’s brilliant new Izaak Walton Life – Times & Legacy (details of this next week).

Plus we will print the best entries later this year – in our magazine!

Send or e-mail your poem. Mark your entry: Angling Poems. Write to: Angler’s Mail, IPC Media Ltd, Blue Fin Building, Southwark Street, London SE1 0LU.
