DESCRIPTION. Owned by British Waterways five pools make up this attractive and well regarded fishery. Bridge and Willow Pools are stocked the same with carp to 25 lb, barbel to 5 lb, tench and chub to 4 lb, bream to 3 lb, perch to 2 lb and roach to 1 lb 8 oz. Cherries is similarly stocked but the carp reach 29 lb and there are no barbel. Home has carp to 29 lb, barbel to 12 lb, chub to 7 lb, bream to 6 lb, perch to 5 lb, tench to 4 lb and roach to 2 lb. Kingfisher has carp to 4 lb and oodles of silver fish, – it is well suited to youngsters, novices and for coaching sessions.

TACTICS. Soft pellet is a very good all-year-round bait here for a mix of species. Most fish are caught on the float but a simple small feeder rig can work well in cooler conditions. Cat food is a good summer option and other baits to try include maggot, caster, chopped worm, bread, paste, meat or corn. In all instances little and often is the way to go with the loose feed.

GOOD SWIMS. Fish to the islands or take advantage of any reed-bed features.

TOP TIP. Never ignore the margins, big weights and big fish are possible and probable any time of the year.
