FISHING tackle theft incidents have made major news this week, with Angler’s Mail hearing of some shocking incidents – none more so than what happened to 60-year-old pub landlord Neil Denton.

Carp angler Neil was beaten up and left tied-up in a ditch as two thugs struck just after dawn at a Berkshire lake.

Neil Denton was beaten, tied, robbed and left in a ditch.

Neil was tossed into a ditch where he lay helpless for nearly two hours before a shocked woman dog walker found him.

Gear worth £5,000 was stolen in the theft – and other incidents have been occurring at fisheries nationwide, but with a high number of cases in the West Country.
