THE RidgeMonkey VRH300 USB Rechargeable Head Torch comes under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.
TACKLE innovators Ridgemonkey have just announced plans to release a rechargeable head torch that you can connect to any USB Charger to top up the internal lithium polymer battery. It’s called the VRH300 USB Rechargeable Head Torch.
It comes with a built-in power display, so you can see if you’re running low. And it’s water resistant, with a hard-wearing, rubberised outer.
There are power buttons on both sides of the VRH300, so you can have it on either way up and still operate it, and there’s a 90-degree tilt option on the lens.
There’s an interesting, green-light option, too, that’s brighter to the naked eye compared to red, so you’ve got more visual clarity.
The feedback is that green light is a lot less harsh than a standard, white beam, but is still bright enough to provide all of the illumination that you need.
Light setting options on this Ridgemonkey head torch include a low white and medium white intensity, wide beams, and a high white, narrow beam, along with low green and medium green intensity, wide beams, all controlled by a push button.
The triple, high-powered, LED output offers brightness from 50-200 lumens, as well as the twin colour. And battery life, depending on how you use it, should be up to 90 hours. It takes around four hours to charge.
