The VMC Mystic Predator 7320SJ Swingin’ Rugby Jig comes under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.
NAMED after its rugby ball-shaped head, this jig increases the action of soft plastic lures.
The head articulates, allowing the body of a lure to sweep from side to side, which will attract the attention of predators.
Closer inspection also reveals that the eye is recessed, helping to prevent knots from snagging on debris or weed.
You’ll also see a flat side on the jig head, helping you to work a lure along the bottom. You can actually make your lure sit up off the bottom by pausing your retrieve.
The extra-long Z Bend on the hook is also deliberate, helping hold your lure in the right position once mounted.
Coming with a needle-sharp, offset point, for maximum hooking, they look ideal for mounting imitation grubs, worms or creature baits. They are available from a size 3/0 hook (7 g) up to a 5/0 hook (21 g).
