IF you thought that Sonik’s top-end Gravity X carp rods were good (they have a cult following), you’ll be keen to lay your hands on the new Gravity XTs.

Completely redesigned, they’ve been built for long casts and big fish, but without the fear of your hook coming free when you’re playing fish close to the bank.

Following the success of parallel butt technology, found on rods in the distance-casting arena, Sonik have included it in these rods, as well as reversing the spigot, to provide a continuous power transfer from the blank when casting.

With a priority to produce a set of carp rods that ‘cast further’ and ‘fish better’, they’ve utilised an advanced Nano Particle Resin System construction within the high-modulus, low-resin carbon blanks.

The range includes a 10 ft rod with a 3 lb test curve; a 12 ft design with either a 3 lb, 3.25 lb or 3.5 lb rating; and a 13 ft 3.5 lb tool for big waters.

Sonik have also added 12 ft and 13 ft Gravity XT S+M (Spod and Marker) rods.

A carbon weave is used throughout, and anglers will appreciate the fact that they don’t scratch.

Boasting quick tip recovery, these slim distance casters have been impressing anglers with their accuracy.

They have been finished with low-profile DL-Black SiC guides, an anti-frap tip, a Fuji DPS18 Deluxe Reel Seat and a Japanese shrink rubber handle.

From the day that they were first shown to the trade, there have been lots of orders, confirm Sonik.

They retail from £199.99 to £269.99 – cheaper than the originals.

Price: from £199.99
