The NGT Dynamic Cree Headlight comes under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.

THIS NGT Dynamic Cree Headlight is different from others that I have seen over the years.

As well as coming with a USB cable, for recharging, there’s a caddy that takes three AAA batteries, so you have back-up power, for when you need it.

Fully charged, it produces 200 lumens of white light, with a range of 150 m, useful when you are casting rigs to island margins, or 100 lumens of discreet red light.

There are two settings, High and Low, producing four or 24-hours of light respectively.

There’s an SOS function, to attract passersby, if you get into difficulties, and a 90-degree tilt function.

There’s also a switch protector and a zip-up case, which will prevent it from accidentally turning on in transit.

Coming with an IPX4 waterproof rating, there’s an adjustable headstrap, too.

Price: around £22.95.
