The Nash BP-12 Fast Drag Reel comes under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.
THE enlarged capacity spools on the brand new Nash BP-12 fast-drag reels come with a hefty 700 yards of 0.30 mm line or 510 yards of 0.35 mm line capacity.
This is a rugged, big pit carp reel for extreme range work, whether you’re casting or boating baits out. My first observation was the smart, ‘stealthy’ all-black finish (they call it Matte), with matching graphics – it looks like a proper, custom touch.
And seeing that they’re retailing for under £90 each, I can imagine there are likely to be a few multiple orders, especially for fishing trips abroad.
They come with Dual Spot On line clips, for precision casting, and a Fast Drag feature. Designed to counter the challenges that come with extreme range fishing, the BP-12 comes with an updated, six stainless steel bearing construction, oversized line roller, line guard spool system and level wind line lay.
There’s also plenty to get hold of in the shape of the CNC-machined, ergonomic handle, complete with isotope slot. I also like its one-touch, quick-folding design.
In short, the BP-12 is a robust, big pit workhorse that looks the part and it definitely won’t break the bank.
