AIMED at the finesse end of lure fishing, there are seven rods in the Gunki Finesse Game Rod range, all retailing for around £50 each.

Designed for tactics such as drop shotting and micro-jigging small softbaits, the range includes a near-7 ft, 0.5-7 g power-rated model, right through to a near-9 ft, 5-28 g power-rated design.

They all come with an extra-fast action and solid carbon tips, for ‘ultimate bite detection, casting and striking’.

The reel seats have been cut back for extra sensitivity, and there’s a reserve of power down the blank, helping you to tame predators of all sizes, including perch and pike.

The blanks feature long SiC anti-frap legs and micro-guide rings.

Priced sensibly, I think that they are likely to receive plenty of attention.

Prices: from £49.99.
