The Dynamite Swim Stim Pinging Pellets come under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.

Description: large feed pellets.

Ingredients: fishmeal carp pellets containing ‘feeding triggers’ and highly digestible fish proteins, utilising what Dynamite call ‘Koi technology’. Flavours include Amino Original, Red Krill, Betaine Green and F1 Sweet.

My verdict: these pellets are around 14 mm in diameter, and they’ve got some weight to them, making them perfect for catapulting over a bomb, feeder or pellet waggler line.

Carp are often attracted to the plop of a pellet, and these are aimed at matchmen fishing large waters such as Barston Lakes or Boddington Reservoir.

Their dense consistency will allow you to catapult them accurately, even if the wind gets up.

The advantage of firing out pellets with a catapult is that you can attract fish without overfeeding them.

Catapulting also enables you to create a bigger feeding area, ensuring that the fish are not on top of each other while competing for the feed.

I reckon there will be a few forward-thinking specimen anglers who’ll be adding these pellets to their armoury, too.

Price: £4.25 for 900 g.
