The Blue Fox Vibrax Original Spinners come under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.

IT’s not long until more anglers turn their attentions to predators, including lure fishing, and it doesn’t have to be expensive, as these Vibrax Original spinners from Blue Fox prove.

These are good quality spinners, with a 45-degree mid-depth blade that will mean that they are most comfortable when worked in the 2-4 ft band.

Emitting low frequency sound vibrations on the retrieve, as well as pulses of flash from their brass, silver or copper-plated blades, the two-part bodies are made from machined brass. The lures also rattle, as the brass gear brushes against the bell.

The shafts are stainless steel and the spinners are armed with incredibly sharp but strong VMC trebles.

What I like about this simple range is the choice of sizes that is available, ranging from 0 (3 g)  up to 6 (18 g), to imitate everything from this year’s fry to a decent roach or rudd.

If you worked along a small river, or the marginal drop-off of a rich gravel pit, you could expect some action from everything from small perch to heavyweight pike.

Price: £2.99-5.49.
