ESP Cryogen hooks latest additions come under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.
ESP CRYOGEN HOOKS are a year on from their interesting launch. Now come come three new ESP Cryogen hooks, named after the high temperature and cryogenic tempering process.
Initial Cryogen samples with improved designs and heavy forging were 25-30 per cent stronger than other PTFE-coated carp hooks in the same gauge.
The new processes means optimum wire gauges and fine, ultra-sharp, needle points that are also more durable.
Latest patterns of ESP Cryogen hooks are called Curve Shanx, Para-Point and Grip Rigger.
The ‘Curves’, are similar to the previously available E-S-P Raptors, but with a stepped-up wire gauge in each size, and a quick-turning, anti-eject shape. Barbed, they come in sizes 4, 6, 7, 8 and 10.
Grip Riggers combine the shape of the Stiff Rigger with the fine, curved, sticky point of the Gripper.
E-S-P were getting requests for a chod/stiff rigger hook with an ultra-sharp, beaked point for weed or snags.
These are really strong, and those beaked points are super durable. They’re available in a barbed format in sizes 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
A ‘go-to’ all-rounder that’ll suit bottom baits or pop-up presentations, the Para-Point hook has a medium length shank, a straight eye and a long, fine, needle-sharp point.
Incredibly strong, Para-Points have already become a firm favourite for some. You can fish them as they come, or with a ‘kicker’ on the shank. They, too, come in barbed sizes 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
Price: £3.95 for ten.
