The RidgeMonkey RM-Tec Hook Range comes under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.
THE brand new RidgeMonkey RM-Tec Hook Range feature four key patterns for specimen carp.
Boasting ridiculously sharp points, special forged bends for extra strength, and a unique RM-Tec GunMetal finish, they’ve been tested across Europe and have passed with flying colours.
Designs include a versatile RM-Tec Beaked Point pattern with a downturned eye, that’ll ‘dig deep’ and stay there. It’ll suit bottom baits or a wafter, even a zig rig set-up, or floater.
For stiff mono or fluorocarbon hook lengths, you might prefer the RM-Tec Chod hooks complete with a 25-degree upturned eye, to allow the hook length material to leave the hook where you want it. These come with a needle-sharp straight point.
Perfectly suited for KD-style rigs, fished in conjunction with a wafter hook bait, the RM-Tec Curved Shank hook range will actually suit a variety of popular carp presentations. They feature a straight eye, forged bend and super-straight point.
The strongest hook in the series is called the RM-Tec Straight Point and it’s a tough all-rounder. This is the pattern to reach for if you’re fishing tight to snags or heavy weed and you need to turn fish away from trouble quickly. They are incredibly strong, report RidgeMonkey, with a pin-sharp straight point and straight eye.
All the hooks in the range come with either a micro barb, or in a barbless format, and sizes 2, 4, 6 or 8. You get ten in a pack.
