This medium bronze coloured hook is the eyed version of Drennan’s popular spade end Carp Feeder pattern. It’s formed from super strong high carbon wire with a slightly more pronounced bend than most of its competitors. This helps to gain a better grip in combination with the beaked-in point, either when directly hooking soft baits, or while playing hard fighting fish when hair-rigging. The good range of sizes runs from 8s to 20s, covering wide bait usage, while the large eyes accept thicker lines and knotless knots with ease.

Popular pattern with match anglers when looking to bag medium to large carp on commercials. Available in size 8s to 20s this is a no nonsense nickel hook with a strong wire gauge, a medium shank and a beaked in point. The large eye is in-line with the shank and offers a large enough opening to form knotless knots with strong lines. Being heavier than average and a bright silver colour, I’d only consider this pattern for heavily coloured venues when big fish are on the cards.

Extremely strong wide gape hook designed to handle big fish and demanding tactics. This pattern has an oversized eye to accommodate thicker lines and it runs straight off the medium length shank. This wide gape pattern has a beaked-in point, a dark bronze finish and is available in size 10 to 20. Its dark nature makes the MWG well worth considering for both coloured and silty clear water situations, especially when targeting big fish with smaller hooks and heavy match orientated tackle. These hooks gain a great grip and are meaty enough to stop just about anything that swims!

Made from 110 carbon steel this strong but not over-heavy hook has a medium shank and in-turned point. Its straight eye is big enough to form knotless knots with low diameter lines, while there’s a good range of sizes running from 8s to 18s. As the packaging suggests, this pattern is ideal for summer bagging on commercials with hair-rigged baits like pellet, corn and meat. The in-turned point will gain a firm hold and don’t ignore KM-1s for direct hooking either where they can be neatly buried in softer baits. Finished in a pale bronze colour.

Available from size 10s to 18s, this is a medium shank model with a wide gape and an in-turned point. Features include a bronze finish, a shallow crystal bend shape and an out turned eye that’s ideal for hair-rigging. These hooks are amazingly strong without being over-heavy in their wire gauge, an attribute match anglers in particular will like because species other than carp won’t reject this unobtrusive design. Larger sizes have quite big eyes, capable of taking pretty thick lines, while smaller sizes work well with low diameter hook length materials when forming knotless knots.
