£1.99 (pack of five)
Hair rigs with wire coils attached, combined with 14 in. traces and wide gape ‘Chikara’ hooks. Available in size 10 to 0.21 mm, 12 to 0.19 mm, 14 to 0.17 mm and 16 to 0.15 mm. The barbless spade end hooks have beaked in points and round bends. Their hair attached bulbous wire coils hang quite close, allowing soft paste offerings to be presented in front of the hook, or they can be moulded around both coil and hook.
SCORE: 26/30

£1.99 (pack of five)
Barbless 10 in. rigs with wide gape Saiko twin etched spade end hooks, finished with short hairs tied to slim wire coils. The latter feature allows soft paste baits to be presented with the hook just showing, or they can cover both the hook and coil. These rigs are available in size 10 to 0.22 mm, 12 to 0.20 mm, 14 to 0.18 mm, 16 to 0.16 mm and 18 to 0.14 mm. The slim wire coils work well with smaller offerings but still grip bigger helpings well. All rigs inspected were expertly tied.
SCORE: 26/30

£1.99 (pack of six)
Wide gape, spade end barbless hooks with sharply swept-in long points. These have soft rubber meat stops threaded on their bends. Only available in size 12 to 6 lb (0.22 mm) line, but there are also Soft Pellet, Corn, Paste and Hard Pellet variations in this range – covering other hook sizes, bait attachment methods and breaking strains. These rigs are long at 24 in. but well tied and presented. With this meat version the rubber stop is threaded through meat with a baiting needle before hooking it.
SCORE: 26/30

£1.99 (pack of six)
Part of the range that includes the previously covered Beast Meat rigs, this option provides a size 14 hook tied to 5 lb (0.12 mm) line, plus a hair with a twisted wire bait spear attached. The hook pattern is wide gape, barbless and has an in-turned point. Approximately 22 in. long, these rigs are mainly designed for spearing soft pellets in a hurry. They can also be used to present corn and meat offerings when casting less vigorously. A tad on the long side.
SCORE: 26/30

£2.49 (pack of eight)
Wide gape spade end hooks with swept-in points, long hairs and pointed plastic bait stops. These barbless rigs are 15 in. long, offering size 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 hooks tied to sensibly gauged strong lines. As an example, the size 12 hook is tied to 7 lb (0.19 mm) mono, while the hair attached Quickstop requires a pointed baiting needle to mount baits like pellet and meat. Harder offerings need to be pre-drilled.
SCORE: 28/30

£2.45 (pack of six)
Wide gape, beaked point, eyed hook pattern with a knotless knot. These 12 in. rigs offer three with standard nooses, and three with larger loops. The range includes size 8 hooks to 0.22 mm mono, 10 to 0.20 mm, 12 to 0.20 mm, 14 to 0.18 mm and 16 to 0.16 mm. Medium to hard consistency baits are placed in the hair loops and then anchored by sliding the small rubber gripper stops down. Brilliant!
SCORE: 29/30
