Experienced carper Mark Ryder tempted the mighty mirror known as the Scar Fish from Luke Moffatt’s Graviers in France during a dream trip.
The fish hit a colossal 99 lb back in 2010 for Ambrose Smith while carrying spawn but then came out a few months later at 94 lb.
The only other fish in the same category is at Rainbow Lakes where tackle and bait boss Martin Locke caught the mirror known as Briggs’ Fish at a then world record 94 lb a couple of years ago.
Daventry, Northamptonshire-based Mark couldn’t have really wished for a better session as he added another of 57 lb 4 oz, four 40-pounders plus a mid 30 and lost one fish.
