To celebrate the festive period, we bring you the best ten stories of 2014, posted up on each of the last ten days of the year.

THE massive EuroMillion Lottery winner who scooped an amazing £107,932,603.20 is a keen angler who met his girlfriend in a fishing tackle shop!

Mechanic Neil Trotter scooped the fourth biggest British pay out of all time and is set to splash the cash on his two loves – fishing and cars.

Neil, 41, who was brought up around the Caterham/Coulsdon area of Surrey, and ran a garage in Mitcham, South London, has already vowed to buy a huge house plus a pony for his ten-year-old daughter.

A spokeswoman for lottery organisers Camelot told the Mail: “I’m not sure what sort of fishing Neil does but he definitely met his girlfriend Nicky Ottaway in a tackle shop.

“He decided to do a big Press conference to reveal the win but was adamant he wasn’t doing any interviews after that one and has taken his girlfriend away on a big holiday,” she added.

Neil is now richer than virtually every pop star and footballer and could buy anything he wanted.

With his money he could buy Britain’s most expensive pole, the Daiwa 16 metre AIR that has an official RRP of £5,999 a staggering 17,991 times.

If Neil is a keen carp angler, he could buy over 2.5 million bulk 5 Kg bags of Dynamite Baits’ top-selling Source boilies that retail at £39.99 – that should fatten up a few fish!

Neil could have bought keen angler and Chelsea FC skipper John Terry’s nine-bedroom mansion in Surrey boasting its own lake for £16 million… but it was sold to an Arab royal family member.

But if Neil had his heart on it, he could put in a bid over six times that amount.

The multi-million fortune makes Neil the 745th richest person in the UK according to the Sunday Times Rich List for 2013 – placing him above George Michael and Robbie Williams who both have a £105 million fortune.
