ANGLER’S MAIL columnist Steve Collett stormed to victory wit pike and perch in the inaugural British Lure Angling Championship final at Somerset’s Chew Valley Lake.
Harris Angling entrepreneur Steve showed he’s the ultimate all-round angler – possibly the best ever – by clinching the win plus a cool £1,000 (seen above with Julian Chidgey, the event organiser).
Steve adds the major UK lure fishing title to the Division One National match victory with a Trent barbel haul in 2010, and he has also achieved in other disciplines at home and abroad – with competitive carp fishing now on his ‘must-do’ list.
The 41-year-old recorded 1,473 cm in the length-only Fox Rage-backed competition to win by nearly 200 cm.
