CHUB have been on the munch big time right across the country and its not just the usual suspects in respect of the productive venues.

Nash Tackle employee Alan Blair set a new personal best with a 7 lb 14 oz sample from the Carthagena Fisheries stretch of the River Lea, Essex.

Having waded through chublets he changed over to an ic1 dumbbell boilie on a prototype Peg One hook and was soon in to the big ‘un.

Alan said: ‘I’ve had plenty of big 5s but never a six-pounder however, and I knew that this fish was something special. I sorted out scales, camera etc and weighed the fish in at 7 lb 14 oz.’
