THE Angling Trust, has launched a new website for anglers to record sightings of cormorants, goosanders and mergansers throughout the UK at www.cormorantwatch.org

In under a minute, Angler’s Mail readers can register any sighting and the Trust hope to gather vital data to help persuade Government of the need for more action to protect fisheries.

The website will be up and running by the river season opening day of this Thursday, June 16.

The Angling Trust succeeded in persuading fisheries minister Richard Benyon to carry out a review of the licensing procedures and he has stated he is prepared to take ‘bold decisions’.
