A NEW lure fishing competition is bringing an exciting America style format to our waters.

The UK Lure Grand Slam will take place in mid-October at the Lake District’s Esthwaite Water.

Organiser Andrew Hoyle  told the Mail: ‘The Grand Slam concept involves locating, catching, measuring, photographing and then releasing three different species using artificial lures within a fixed time period.

‘The winner being decided by the longest combined length of all three predators.’
