THE success of RK Leisure’s management of former CEMEX Angling-owned venues continues to impress with TWO venue records in the space of a week plus one of the largest carp of 2014.
The new kids on the block , RK Leisure, bought a number of venues from the aggregates giants and, showing true commitment to the sport, have invested heavily in fish stock, facilities and security.
The hard work is paying off in style with the jewel in the crown, Horton Church Lake, Berkshire, producing its biggest fish with mirror carp known as Fingers at 48 lb 15 oz.
It falls just shy of Alan South’s 49-pounder, Jack, caught in a record brace with 41 lb 10 oz fish – scooping the Mail’s annual big fish cup, during Horton’s 1990s heydays.
