THE mighty River Trent in Nottinghamshire has been in sparkling form all season with huge barbel, chub, carp and zander ...and now it has produced this superb 27 lb 4 oz pike.

Lee Howdle landed the new personal best from the River Trent at Sawley and a venue bailiff checked his scales and took the photos.

The 30-year-old from Draycott, Derbyshire, said: “It put up an amazing fight which ended with the landing net breaking but I didn’t care because of capturing this stunning fish.”
