THE Olympics legacy will leave anglers with little to cheer for according to Lee Anglers Consortium leader Dennis Meadhurst.

His outcry follows the Mail’s exclusive on Sir Steve Redgrave’s Visa credit card advert showing the multiple gold medallist fishing close to the stunning main arena for London Olympic Games.

With the clocking ticking towards the July 27, 2012 opening ceremony at Stratford. the country is beginning to go crazy for what is dubbed as ‘The Greatest Show On Earth.’

But this has done little to temper the mood of many local anglers. And the fact that we revealed Sir Steve was actually fishing the nearby Regents Canal, not the nearby River Lea system, didn’t make any difference.

For Dennis’s views, nab a copy of this week’s Angler’s Mail magazine.
