A CARP angler got a shock of his life when he caught a Mozambique mouthbrooder while whiling away the hours tiddler bashing!

The 1 lb 9 oz specimen came out of the blue while Jake Selby was float fishing maggot at Greenland Dock in Rotherhithe, East London.

The species was identified by fish expert Dr Mark Everard who has a book just out called Fantastic Fishes.

Roach ace Mark said: ‘Although the photo lacks detail, I’d say this was a Mozambique mouthbrooder (Oreochromis mossambicus), and probably a female at that.’
