ANGLER’S MAIL magazine exclusively brought you a British record-breaking 6 lb 4 oz perch from the River Thames recently – now check out this Dutch one, a bit bigger at fully 3 kg (6 lb 10 oz).

Shimano’s leading Dutch lure angler, Willem Stolk, has been experiencing some great sport recently whilst targeting Hollandsdiep and Haringvliet – two vast waters local to him across the pond.

Willem is currently in training for the World Predator Classic, where he will be targeting these venues for their monster pike, perch and zander along with his boat partner Jan Porter.

It certainly seems that the practicing is going incredibly well at the moment, with big perch appearing extremely willing to put in an appearance.

The fish pictured weighed a staggering 3kg – that’s above the 6 lb 6 oz size recognised by the International Game Fish Association (IGFA).

It fell to a vertical jigging approach – an approach that will play a massive part in this June’s event.
