Angler’s Mail magazine reveals how Koi Herpes Virus is easily passed from contaminated fish, through small amounts of water and picked up by non-infected fish.

Nets, mats and slings have been shown to hold sufficient water to transmit KHV if conditions are suitable.

Research by the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science has proven that putting infected water into a clean environment and testing the fish in that environment, that a large percentage of the clean stock would develop the killer virus.

This and more was revealed at the 2011 CLA Came Fair – full show report in the issue pictured right.
