THE River Taff in south Wales has produced more whacker barbel to enhance its reputation as one of the best venues in the whole of Great Britain.

Brothers Paul and Jamie Taylor – who we featured in July with fish of 16 lb 2 oz and 14 lb 8 oz respectively – have been back in action and this time pal Matthew Small also chipped in with a stunner.

Car mechanic Paul topped the catches again with a 17 lb sample that is a near river record and also had a 12 lb 3 oz sample at the same time Mathew had a 15 lb 6 oz lump.

Jamie’s also chipped in with a brace of 11 lb 2 oz and 6 lb 1 oz from the venue that has a 17 lb 2 oz overall best set in 2007 by Paul Stratford.

Paul, 24, from nearby Cardiff explained: ‘All these fish were caught using a small PVA tubing filled with 2 mm halibut pellets and hook bait was double 10 mm halibut pellets.
