TOP tackle inventor Ben Hamilton has landed one of the biggest carp in the country at a best-ever weight of 58 lb (pictured).

Ben caught the venue record from a Surrey syndicate lake on a dream two-night session where he’s already matted an upper 20 lb common plus an awesome 7 lb 3 oz eel.

Ben, a director of Yateley-based Thinking Anglers, told Angler’s Mail: “I’d baited up three night before on a spot I’ve been fishing for past few months just 25-30 yards out on a bit of a drop-off from where the lake goes from shallow and weedy to deeper water.

The catch won Ben a weekly award in the Angler’s Mail Fox Carp Cup. Read Ben’s full story in Angler’s Mail magazine – No.1 each week for news, tips and where to fish.
