YOUTUBE footage of a baited rig delivery by a flying helicopter drone with a built-in underwater camera has been met with a mixed response.
The footage which last 2 minutes 30 seconds was in the Netherlands by a user named droneexpert.nl
Under the title ‘DJI Phantom2 winch camera with rig release for carp fishing’, the video shows how baits are flown via a drone to the desired area. They’re then winched-down whilst being videoed to ensure your rig and bait are sitting perfectly on the lake bed.
Many sceptics question the use of such technology is taking a more and more skill out of the sport.
Top carper and Fox and Mainline Baits consultant Mark Pitchers said: “I really can’t see the point in this. I am all for technology but there must be a point at which it stops. I for one wouldn’t welcome it on my fishery.”
