HOW about this for a pair of UK day ticket catfish - two giants for 209 lb. And the captor has caught an even bigger brace!

Catmaster consultant Tony Corbett had another amazing 48-hour session when he banked the catfish, scaling a mighty 116 lb and 93 lb.

They came from Chigborough Fisheries in Maldon, Essex, where adult day ticket prices start from £10 for three rods.

Tony, who hit the headlines in 2017 with the largest-ever UK brace of cats for 241 lb, also added others of 78 and 45 lb.

This time the 38-year-old operations manager offered pellets and leeches presented on a Catmaster PA rig.

Congleton, Cheshire-based Tony said: “My last brace of big cats was from a ‘no publicity’ water so it’s nice to be able to put a name to this fishery, giving people the opportunity to target these impressive creatures.

“The staff at Chigborough were all really friendly and the lake itself is full of islands and features, making it an enjoyable and challenging place to fish.

“The weather was absolutely awful, cold nights and torrential rain but it didn’t stop the cats from feeding.

“For anyone targeting catfish, I would recommend doing some research and tackling up with the right gear.

“Lots of fish are caught on light tackle after a 45-minute fight, which isn’t good for the fish – especially in the warmer weather,” concluded the Catfish Conservation Group member.
