CARP went crazy over the unseasonally hot Easter period with a string of fantastic catches recorded all around the country.

Pav Stewart caught one of the biggest-ever carp from Yorkshire when he matted a distinctive 45 lb common from Westlands near Hull.

The mechanical machine driver caught the fish from syndicate water House Lake on the otherwise day ticket six lake complex in a good run of fish using a slightly unusual boilie – home-made trifle offerings!

Hull, East Yorkshire-based Pav said: ‘Me and my wife Kerry had done a few days and caught carp of 29 lb 2 oz, 25 lb 2 oz, 24 lb 8 oz, 24 lb, 21 lb 10 oz and 21 lb 2 oz.’

And James Swann caught one of the most beautiful carp available on a day ticket when he took a stunning 44 lb 6 oz mirror (pictured) from Richworth Linear’s St. John Pool in Oxfordshire.

The 28-year-old plumber from Leicester smashed his personal best with the fish called The Big Plated in a stunning ten fish haul using Mainline Cell pop-ups on a chod rig fished over 30 freebies in a ten-fish catch.
