BT Sport are the latest channel to make angling a higher profile sport on television, launching a new show at the end of September.
On BT Sport 2, The Fishing TV Show will be broadcast in three eight-part series and will cover coarse, match, and carp, through to sea, fly fishing and big game.
The move follows a high profile capture of Robson Green by Quest, after his Extreme shows had proved popular over many years on Channel 5.
BT’s shows are being produced by Fishing TV, who already produce and broadcast their own programmes via their website and via the Fishing TV Smart TV app.
Fishing TV’s Rae Borras will co-host the show along with well-known carp angler, Ian ‘Chillly’ Chilcott. They will be joined by a lineup of visiting presenters including, Des Taylor, and Julian Chidgey.
Fishing TV say they will not only provide useful hints, tips and advice for keen anglers, but will also seek the capture the essence and aesthetics of fishing to appeal to a wider audience.
