The latest cock-up follows on last year’s fiasco when anglers where charged numerous times over with some being issued up to 18 licences, stinging them for the princely sum of nearly £500.
This year’s blunder sees many anglers, who bought licences online, scratching their heads when they opened envelopes with more licences than they bargained for. The system error left the Environment Agency with egg on their faces once again.
Mail reader Paul Brown, from Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire, said: ‘At this time last year the Post Office/EA took five payments of £27 for one licence, this year they have correctly taken one payment for one licence but sent me two. I can’t wait to see what happens next year!’
