MORRISONS store worker Stuart Anderson has landed the fourth biggest zander of all time – after a 19 lb 12 oz predator picked up his double boilie while barbel fishing!

Stuart was targeting double-figure beards on this local River Severn with his dad Jeff when the near-20 lb zed took a fancy to his 20 mm fishmeal offerings.

And it was like groundhog day for the duo as Jeff caught a 27 lb pike on the River Severn back in 1997 using a maggot feeder.

Dad Jeff said: ‘The ironic thing is we fish for pike throughout the winter and barbel fish the summer but have both caught big predators by accident now.’
