DAVID COOPER set a new personal best common with his first big fish from Shropshire’s The Avenue this winter with this pristine 44 lb 8 oz carp.

David used a chod rig with a Monument mix boilie at the mega prolific syndicate venue that owner Rob Hales has high hopes for producing truly massive carp in the future.

The 10.2 acre venue holds 140 carp with a lake record mirror called Jona at 57 lb 8 oz with a best common is 46 lb 10 oz.

Rob explained: ‘The Avenue is located in the grounds of my own home. It was dug in the late 17th Century as a pool to provide ice for the ice house.’
