THE angling community got the news it feared last week with the coalition government announcing the London to Birmingham High Speed 2 rail link will DEFINITLEY go ahead.

Destroying the fishing at historic fisheries was always going to be a low priority for the scheme as it is going to cost £32.7 BILLION – and these costs are likely to rise – but a huge chunk of the English countryside is going to change forever.

The line – which will be on stilts or buried underground – is going to go right over venues like Savay, Korda and Harrow Pit 2 as well as being right next to others like Harefield, rivers, canals and Cuttle Mill.
