AN ANGLING-MAD family have had one of the best predator spells ever with an amazing haul of pike and zander from their local River Severn.

Angling artist Karen Sarkar started the rout with a PB zander of 11 lb 7 oz while husband and Pikelines editor Dilip chipped in with a double-figure pike.

The three days later they returned to muster an amazing 12 double-figure pike topped by a 27 lb 2 oz river beast to Dilip.

Then two days later, their 19-year-old son James returned home from his fisheries course at Rodbaston College and nipped down specifically for zander. He caught an 18 lb 1 oz zed, that puts him into the species’ Top 50 list, using a legered roach head.
