The morning after a frost, out of a nice shallow bay at the top of the lake out of the wind. I couldn't get a single bite anywhere else in the lake so moved into the quiets. This one popped up within minutes of doing so.
All deadbaits had failed so William used a lobworm on a single size 6 hook on a wire trace and immediately had a response. The fight lasted over ten minutes and fought really well. Given the bait and the method it was a complete surprise.
