The Sufix Shock Max Tapered Leader comes under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.
WHEN fishing at range, you might want to attach one of these Sufix Shock Max Tapered Leaders to your main line.
Whether you’re launching big feeders or heavy payloads inside a PVA bag, these leaders will absorb the shock of the cast. You might use them when casting a Spomb, spod or marker, too.
Being tapered, with the lowest diameter end tied to the main line, they ensure that you have the best chance of hitting maximum casting range with minimal hindrance from bulky leader knots.
They are supplied with five 15 m leaders on a spool.
There are five choices of diameter, from 0.16 and 0.18 mm, which both increase in diameter to 0.50 and 0.20, 0.23 and 0.26 mm, which all increase to 0.57 mm.
No breaking strains are provided, but if you compare it to a similar Sufix line, the thinner leaders would taper from 5-40 lb, and the thicker ones from 13-55 lb.
Coming in a Clear finish, these leaders are designed to ensure that they peel off the spool smoothly on the cast. You can couple them with braided or mono main lines.
Price: £7.99 for five leaders.
