The Maver MVR Carp Feeder Mono comes under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.
Description: reel line for carp fishing on commercial fisheries.
Specifications: a dark green and black dual colour, for camouflage; 0.18 mm (5.51 lb), 0.20 mm (6.61 lb), 0.22 mm (7.72 lb), 0.24 mm (9.92 lb) and 0.26 mm (12.35 lb) sizes; high-abrasion resistance; good knot strength; strong, smooth coating; UV-resistant; virtually memory free.
My verdict: whether you’re using a pellet feeder, Method feeder or bomb and corn in cold conditions, there’s a useful range of breaking strains here. I haven’t tested the line, but it looks strong for the stated diameter.
Abrasion resistance is a key consideration when looking for a carp feeder line, and I would always opt for a slightly heavier diameter, as they tend to take some hammer. This line is well-priced, and you get plenty on a spool.
Price: £5.99 for 150 m.
