IT SEEMS like an ongoing moan regarding the weather but again April and early May saw temperatures averaging just into double figures. But here we are on the 24th and the outside temperature is 4 degrees with a projected high of 9 but it hasn’t slowed the teams catch rates down…

Paul and one of his tench

The team has been very busy testing new products and getting out fishing with some great results. Keep your eyes on our Facebook page as the new website is only ten days away from full launch and will include all the latest products, catch reports and upcoming show dates.

This is the time for tench but for the third year in a row the weather is making this hard work with reported big tench few and far between.

Paul Smyth and me (Jez Brown) have been experimenting with different baits and mixes and have managed a good string of fish to almost 8 lb.

The carp team have been doing really well in the short sessions they tend to fish, carp to 28 lb were caught over the last 4 weeks as the fish have really got on the bait and feeding hard.

New team man Roman has had fish to 28 lb, Ray fish to high 20’s and James Wenglorz continues to do well on the Crave / Jungle combination known as ‘Crungle’.

It just shows that mixing up your baits is always worth a go and this half and half approach is making the difference for James.

All rounder Luke Ayling has also taken a great run of fish, mainly of the top with jungle pop ups or cork balls soaked in Jungle glug. Here is Luke with a mid 20lb specimen…

Everything is gearing up for the new river season which is only three weeks away. Pallatrax will be at the Staffordshire Regional Barbel Society Event on the 29th May, The Association Of Barbel Fishers event on the same night in Basingstoke, The Barbel Society Show on the 9th June (with Lone Angler) and Longleat Fishing and Country Show on June 14th & 15th… A busy couple of weeks coming up but please do come over and say hello.

Look forward to meeting up with you in the near future.

Pallatrax founder Simon Pomeroy – he’s on the radio on Saturday.

Pallatrax’s Simon Pomeroy will be up with the ‘early birds’ on Saturday 25th May.

It’s 6am kick off for two hours of debate and banter on Keith Arthur’s radio programme, Fisherman’s Blues on talkSport.

Fancy asking ‘Pom’ a question? Then make sure you phone in!! 08717 22 33 44 or text 81089.

We’re sure that Pom will be talking about all the recent exciting developments at Pallatrax and no doubt the Hidra range will come in for some serious scrutiny!
