Fishing at Pisces
With over 10 acres of water across 3 lakes, combined with a variety of specimens, you’re sure of a great days fishing at Pisces Country Park.
Two of our lakes are stocked with all types of specimens, from double-figure carp through to roach. The other two lakes offer silver fish only, and being heavily stocked, these lakes will produce an excellent day’s bag for those that prefer the pole and whip.
Couple all that with the beautiful picturesque scenery, abundance of wildlife including roe deer, badgers, kingfishers and many other species of small birds, plus all the Lakes being just minutes away from your chalet, and you will see why Pisces Country Park is so popular all year round.
Anglers will be glad to note that your stay here at Pisces also permits fishing, free of charge.
4 Acres This is our largest lake and the place for those seeking to tackle our hard-fighting, double-figure common and mirror carp. Just make sure your tackle is up to the job. Try floating dog biscuit on a lazy summer evening for some explosive action. The lake also supports a good head of bream, tench, perch, ide, new F2 carp and crucian carp, chub (stocked in 2007) plus specimen roach and rudd. Pike anglers are also well catered for with fish to 25lb, though please note that live-baiting is prohibited.
1 Acre Reshaped and landscaped a couple of years ago this delightful lake is where you are most likely to see former World Champion Bob Nudd indulging in his favourite pastime. Heavily stocked with bream, tench, roach, rudd, perch, ide and crucian carp this is the ideal lake for the pole angler seeking a mixed bag of quality fish. Children and beginners will also love this lake, where simple waggler fishing with maggot can produce a great days’ sport in a great setting.
3 Acres Probably the most picturesque lake on the park, this water is packed with a variety of interesting swims, many of which are secluded from view by the surrounding vegetation. As with the two previous lakes stock levels are extremely high, and the sizeable head of double-figure carp, plus many specimen-sized fish of all the above-named species, means that the only thing likely to spoil a perfect day is exhaustion, as yet another personal-best comes to the net.
2.5 Acres Previously a small wildlife lake, ‘Grebe’ has been dramatically enlarged over winter. An existing head of roach and rudd have recently been supplemented by the introduction of over 1,000 small bream and tench, making this the ideal venue for the whip angler keen to perfect his or her technique. The lake is also home to the rare spined loach, a fact that illustrates the diversity and quality of the habitats provided on our park.
