DESCRIPTION. Day ticket fishing is available at this mature three-acre lake, set on an estate. It averages around 6 ft deep and has a couple of feature islands. Very much a mixed fishery, the carp here go to 38 lb. Also available are bream and tench to 10 lb, perch to 3 lb 8 oz, roach to 2 lb, rudd to 1 lb and some winter pike to 28 lb.
TACTICS. For the bigger carp leger hair-rigged luncheon meat, corn, Peperami or pellet, over a few free offerings. Floater fishing can score when it’s warm. Feeder fished redworm tipped with a maggot or a caster, corn or bread flake can be good for the bream. Float fish corn bread for tench. Float fish maggot, caster or chopped worm for mixed catches, including smaller carp.
GOOD SWIMS. Look for worn pegs!
TICKETS. £6 one rod, £10 for two or £15 for three. Tickets from the East Lodge on the way in. They apply from dawn until dusk. Night fishing by strict prior arrangement, £20 for 12 hours, £25 for 24 hours. Disabled access. Barbless hooks only. No keepnets. No braid. No nuts. No boilies. All landing nets must be dipped on arrival.
