This week’s chance of a lifetime was revealed in late April 2015 to Angler’s Mail by carp fishing tackle giants Korda. It’s to be the angling-based PA to their main man, Danny Fairbrass.

Korda say: “As a result of the continued expansion of both Korda, Gigantica and Embryo, MD Danny Fairbrass requires an assistant to work closely with him in all aspects of his management of these businesses.

“The successful candidate MUST be a passionate carp angler with a full driving licence as much of their responsibilities will be helping behind the scenes on the various film shoots and in the angling side of Danny’s commitments.

“This could mean you could be catering for the anglers and crew of Thinking Tackle for three days, and then re-organising Team Korda’s bait and tackle storage for the next shoot at their Basildon-based warehouse the next day.

“Danny already has a long-serving clerical PA so no usual clerical skills are needed but you must be super organised and work well unsupervised and to deadlines.

There'll be some hand on work, what with Danny's Embryo organisation really taking off now.

“Last minute support for the Embryo project, which creates new waters and fences others, will be a substantial part of the role so absolute versatility is essential as you may need to travel the all over Europe at very short notice.

“You would be based opposite Danny at Korda’s HQ is Basildon, Essex so relocation to the local area is essential.

“Danny feels this massively varied role would suit someone with a methodical approach, self-discipline, ‘can do’ attitude and desire to meet all challenges head on, to match his own exacting standards and strong work ethic.

You'll need to be organised, and that includes helping get everything prepped for sessions.

“Considerable life experience is needed so Danny will expect to pay a salary of approximately £30k+ for this role and, given his company’s expansion over the last ten years, a wealth of opportunities will be presented to the right person as the group continues to grow.”
