Step 10 – Notice that the tag end of the bag has been left longer than usual and the hook has been passed through here rather than through the middle of the bag as normal. If you hook the middle of the bag then there is a chance that you will pierce a maggot which sees the bag breaking down before you cast it out. The usual nugget of dissolving foam is licked and folded over the hook shank to prevent the long hair tangling in flight
