Pole-tastic! Neil Machin (left) and Andy Moors (right) collect their rewards from Maver UK boss Phil Briscoe at the brilliant Maver Larford Lakes.

BRILLIANT Bag’em Baits-backed anglers keep bringing home the trophies – having taken something of a grip on the Angler’s Mail Kamasan Matchman of the Year crown in recent seasons.

Now they’re hailing success with first and second at the Maver British Pole Championships. A pairs event, held at Maver Larford in Worcestershire, Bag’em boys Neil Machin and Andy Moors won it with two section wins which equals a perfect 2 points.

There were 56 pairs taking part and former Mail and Fish’O’Mania champ Neil (Garbolino) and Andy (Maver) were the only pair with two section wins. Their total weight was 172 lb. And they went home with £1,500 and a Maver 361 pole (worth £2,000) apiece … plus some cut-glass trophies.

Neil caught 15 carp on meat fished over Bag’em natural hemp, plus some skimmers caught on pellet over a mix of Bag’em XP and Machins Method Mix groundbaits.

Runners-up Lee Thornton and Pete Goodman made it a one-two for Bag’em Baits pairs.
