Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard carefully selects stand-out products every week, and he was impressed by the Wychwood Packsmart MKII. Check out his lowdown here…

DESIGNED to be carried on your back, rucksack style, but also suitable for being fished ‘out of’ on a barrow, the Packsmart MKII modular storage system is an organised tackle carrier.

The five storage compartments can be filled with everything from tackle boxes to metalware or food and bait, where it’s easy to access, without too much rummaging.

Storage compartments can also be unzipped on the bank, to fit under a bedchair, where they remain within easy reach, but out of the way.

Coming with an impressive lifetime warranty – that’s how confident Wychwood are of its build quality – there is 600D outer fabric, bespoke SBS zips and Duraflex clips and buckles, as well as a PU water-resistant backing,

Wychwood have also included a waterproof rain cover that you can lay it on and still fish out of it.

It’ll swallow a lot of gear, I reckon close to 90 litres. A few pikers will be tuning into the Packsmart MKII system, as well as carpers. It’s a quality piece of kit. Expected to be in the shops in April.

Price: £74.99.
